F/L Reginald “Crash” Harrison
1922 – 2025

Posted November 2025 by CAHS Online Staff

F/L Reginald “Crash” Harrison, a distinguished RCAF veteran, passed away at the age of 103. Harrison flew 19 missions in Lancaster bombers with 431 Squadron and remarkably survived four crashes during his service. His courage, resilience and lifelong dedication to sharing Canada’s aviation history left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of hearing his stories.

At the CAHS convention, Harrison captivated attendees with a memorable presentation. An interview featuring Harrison and Dr. Galway, along with additional videos, was recorded and shared by Deana Driver. Her blog post capturing those moments can be viewed here. Harrison's book about being a bomber pilot (co-authored with Deana Driver) can be purchased here.

We honour F/L Harrison’s extraordinary life and service. May he rest in peace.

The Saskatoon Star Phoenix has published his obituary.

Marjorie Ward
1922 – 2025

 Treasurer and Membership Officer,
CAHS Manitoba Chapter

Marjorie Ward died on June 19 at the age of 102. Max Ward passed away a few years ago. My late wife, Mireille, and I met her on a Bristol 170 flight from Edmonton in 1970 or 1971  when I was assigned to work at the Yellowknife, NWT base for the summer. She served us sandwiches on the flight. That really shocked my Belgian wife, as the wife of an airline owner in Belgium may not have done that. She and Max had a long and wonderful life. She was Max's rock of ages. Thought you all should know. Wardair was my first civilian job after the RCAF. See Marjorie's Obituary here.
