In part 1 of his detailed feature on the subject, author Pierre Thiffault introduced the personalities and technology involved in making practical use of kites worldwide. The Canadian aspect of this aviation history side road is presented here in Part 2.


The North American Saga of Spitfire I.1090

Originally destined for the USA in early 1940, Spitfire I.1090 ended up instead in Canada, where it was used and slightly abused as a test aircraft. Featuring sidebars on W/C Victory Beamish and various related reports generated by the RCAF. By Carl Vincent.
