MAQ-QAM:
A New Restoration Project Underway

The Quebec Aerospace Museum (MAQ-QAM) has a new project on the go! Looking to restore their CF-100 Avro Canuck Mk. 5 S/N 100760. The aircraft was manufactured in 1958 by Avro Canada and is a Mk. 5 fitted with two Orenda 11 engines.
It entered service with the RCAF in 1958 as part of 433 Squadron until 1961 when it went through years of being put away and repaired until 1967. In 1967 it was loaned to Pratt & Whitney Canada to serve as a flight test bench for small turbines and was based in Saint-Hubert (CYHU). In 1970-71, it was returned to the RCAF and its registration was changed from #18760 to 100760.

In 1971, it was loaned again to Pratt & Whitney Canada for testing of the JT15D engine. It made its last flight on June 28, 1982 and was officially withdrawn from service, making it the last CF-100 to fly. In 1983, the pylon supporting the test engine was removed along with much of its systems and landing gear. It was installed on a pedestal in front of the barrier of the CFB Saint-Hubert from 1983 to 2012. In 2012 it was withdrawn and donated to the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa where it was stored until the fall of 2018.
On November 11, 2018, it was given on loan to the Quebec Aerospace Museum with the intention to bring it back to Saint-Hubert for restoration. The aircraft has been stripped of all components in order to put it on a stand and the MAQ-QAM. |
The Museum is looking for parts and components to rebuild the aircraft and would like to ask readers for help in locating them. If you know where any may be found, the museum has asked that you reach out the notify Director of Operations Mr. Pierre Gillard at:
