CAHS Electronic Newsletter Editor Job Description

The Canadian Aviation Historical Society (CAHS) has an exciting part-time opportunity for someone looking to interact with the aviation history and museum community for the purposes of sharing relevant news and events with like-minded people. The CAHS is looking for a new editor for its monthly electronic newsletter (eNL) which is produced to inform CAHS members and friends about CAHS events and initiatives, aviation history news, and aviation museum events and developments. The monthly pay for the eNL role will be $185 with a start date in mid-summer 2025.

What does the CAHS eNL Editor do?
- The Editor collects, curates, creates, and proof-reads eNL content each month.

With whom does the CAHS eNL Editor work?
- The Editor gets material from regular eNL contributors, including the National Executive, CAHS Chapters, the CAHS Journal Editor, volunteer article writers, and aviation museums, as well as from internet sites and social media posts.
What skills does the CAHS eNL Editor need?
- The Editor needs to have good writing and communications skills, experience with computers and the internet, and the ability to meet quick turnaround deadlines and take direction from the CAHS Executive.
- Although not necessary, it would be an asset it applicants have aviation history knowledge and/or existing contacts with aviation history communities and aviation networks.
