* Ted Barris introduces his new book, Juno. On June 6, 1944, nearly 15,000 Canadians - at sea, the air, and on the ground - joined the long-anticipated D-Day invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe on the Normandy beaches. The piece of ground on which the Canadians fought so hard against heavily armed and entrenched German troops was codenamed "Juno."

In his new book JUNO: CANADIANS AT D-DAY, JUNE 6, 1944 ($34.95 pb / February 28, 2004) bestselling author Ted Barris tells the story of the Canadian experience at Juno in the voices of the men who were there - young farmers from Manitoba and Saskatchewan, fresh-faced high-school graduates from Ontario, workers from mines and factories in the Maritimes, and eager recruits from Quebec and Newfoundland.

Copies of JUNO will be available at the meeting, proceeds to CAHS.
