11th Annual Air Force Historical Seminar
"Air Command – 30 Years of Canada’s Air Force”

September 2nd, 2005 marks the 30th anniversary of the formation of Air Command. To celebrate this auspicious occasion, the Office of Air Force Heritage and History will host an historical symposium, Air Command – 30 Years of Canada’s Air Force. This event will be one of our most significant ever, with many previous Commanders participating. As the premier military aviation historical event of the year, this Seminar is replete with extras such as a private reception at the Canada Aviation Museum, a tour of the new Canadian War Museum, a formal dinner at the historic Royal Canadian Air Force Officers’ Mess in Ottawa, plus a hospitality suite open each evening at the Albert at Bay Suites Hotel.

The Seminar will take place at the new Canadian War Museum in Ottawa We are expecting a wide variety of scholars, academics, historians, aviation buffs and serving members. Attendees will have the great privilege of listening to several outstanding guest speakers including our 2005 Honoree and the “Father” of Canada’s Air Force, Lieutenant-General W.K. Carr (Ret’d). Our presenters will probe the last 30 years of Canada’s Air Force, from the formation of Air Command to Canada’s Air Force of today.
