Tuesday September 14, 2004
- Our regular bi-monthly meeting was held yesterday at
the BC Aviation Museum.
Attendance: 16 - Speaker: Bert Clark
Topic: Pilot Training in Canada with emphasis on his personal experiences as a
Flight Commander at Moose Jaw. One Turkish student was having problems. He was
very heavy on the controls. He asked the student " Do you like girls ?" "Yes ,
Sir " was the reply. How do you treat girls ? Gently was the Student's reply.
So Bert said "All those airplanes are girls and treat them nice". This cured
the problem..
- Our V-P Dick Frampton videotaped this presentation .
Copies of this lecture and previous lectures have been presented to the BC
Aviation Museum.
- Notes: The
Nanton Lancaster Museum has given
a Bolingbroke to the
ManxAviation and Military Museum at Ronaldsway on the Isle of Man.

Tuesday May 11, 2004 - 1:00pm
- Ken Leigh will speak and show slides, "Trans Canada
Airlines and the Avro Lancaster".
- Friends and guests are welcome, non BCAM members will
need to pay admission to the museum.
- Lunch at Mary's Blue Moon Cafe 9535 Canora Road at 11:30 for those who wish to join us.

Tuesday March 16, 2004 - 1:00pm
- A short business meeting will be followed by a
presentation: Elwood White and Peter Smith, co-authors: "Victoria's Flying
Heritage, the First Century 1871-1971". Elwood and Peter have combined
their writing and researching skills to put together an aviation history of
Victoria, British Columbia. Elwood and Peter will present stories and pictures
that form the background for their upcoming book.
- Friends and guests are welcome, non BCAM members will
need to pay admission to the museum.
- Lunch at Mary's at 11:30 for those who wish to join us.

Tuesday January 27, 2004
- We had a good turnout at our meeting. The speaker was
Ian Waterlow a Librarian at BC Aviation Museum.
His subject was "Two Years on 417 (F) Squadron in Italy from 1943 to 1945".
Great lecture and well prepared.
